Since I was a child, I have been fascinated by nature, especially by the morphological diversity of insects.
It has always been my dream to become an entomologist.
During my undergraduate studies, I encountered parasitoid wasps—those that lay their eggs in or on other organisms—and was captivated by their diverse lifestyles.
In particular, I focused on the taxonomic study of the genus Gastrancistrus (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea: Pirenidae), which parasitize gall midges that induce plant galls.
While continuing my work on the taxonomy of parasitoid wasps, I am also engaging with other taxonomic groups and exploring different fields of expertise at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST).
